Clayton, N.C. — A crash involving one vehicle sent three to the hospital, resulted in a power pole being split into two pieces and closed a road in Clayton on Tuesday.
The Town of Clayton’s public information officer told WRAL’s Rosalia Fodera the crash happened at 2027 Glen Laurel Rd. in Clayton Tuesday night. One of the three people involved in the crash was seriously injured and was sent to the hospital. The other two in the vehicle were also transported with less serious injuries.
Glen Laurel Road is likely to be shut down for 4-5 hours while electric crews make repairs. Residents in the area may experience a brief power outage during the repair.
Drivers who are approaching the area are asked to use Powhatan Road to US 70 to access neighborhoods to the east of the area.
