Carolina Panthers preseason schedule set

The Carolina Panthers are scheduled to open the preseason at home with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Aug. 13.

The Panthers are set to play four AFC teams in the preseason. All four games will be televised by WRAL.

The preseason opener with the Jaguars, the first warmup for new coach Matt Rhule, will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.

The Panthers will then play a pair of road games: at New England on Aug. 20 (7:30 p.m.) and at Baltimore on Aug. 30 (8 p.m.).

They will close out the preseason with a home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sept. 3 (7:30 p.m.).

The coronavirus pandemic has rearranged the NFL’s offseason activities but the league released its regular-season schedule two weeks ago and has been making plans to hold the 2020 season, even if it is without fans.

NASCAR became the first professional sports league in the United States to return to action with a race in Darlington, S.C. this past Sunday. The race was held without fans.

The Panthers’ preseason schedule:

Aug. 13: vs. Jacksonville, 7:30 p.m. (WRAL)

Aug. 20: at New England, 7:30 p.m. (WRAL)

Aug. 30: at Baltimore, 8 p.m. (WRAL)
