Cary, N.C. — Hundreds of people sampled champion chili recipes in downtown Cary Sunday at the Triangle Chili Challenge, and WRAL’s Debra Morgan and Renee Chou were on hand to judge the entries.
The Triangle Chili Challenge is a benefit for Special Olympics. For $5, guests could taste, smell and evaluate the entries.
Each chili was evaluated by five criteria – aroma, texture, color, taste and aftertaste – and judges were counseled to look for that chili that delivered “delicious, sensual heat.”
